I think we’ve all reached the point if we hear that word one more time – we might just throw something across the room. (Might?  Let’s make that WILL)

I promise – it’s the last time I’ll use it……

I mean let’s face it – that word is a major understatement that doesn’t even begin to cover what most business owners have undergone since the onset of this ‘COVID-19 world’.  And as we embark into the next stage of this ‘new world’, these are the things we have all had to master.

Embracing Technology. This is a huge one for so, so many.

Based on client feedback – this has been one of the biggest hurdles.

Moving from solely in-person to predominantly virtual events has been such an eye-opening experience for so many Speakers and Facilitators in particular.  The days where you simply show up with your presentation, hand over a flash drive to the technical team, and slip gracefully into your zone of genius, are looking a little different now.

Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Streamyard, Facbook Live, Instagram Stories, TikTok, YouTube live – all things that weren’t a regular part of your vocabulary are now often uttered multiple times in one day.

Pre-recorded vs. live and interactive.  (Or what is especially fun for all……a hybrid of the two !!)

Greenscreens.

Virtual backgrounds.

Ring lights.

Blinds open or closed?

Soundproofing.

Teleprompters.

Lapel mic vs tabletop.

Background noise.

Where is the sun? 

Where will it be in 30 mins or an hour?

Breakout rooms.

Waiting rooms.

Polls.

Screen Sharing.

Host Controls.

Whiteboards.

Frankly, it’s enough to make even the most technically confident person’s head spin.
